New year is a time of reflection. We all want want to accomplish new things. Research shows 80% of those who make resolutions never follow through on them.
Most of them lack the right attitude. If our attitude is not right we are not going to be successful.
We don’t want momentary success. We want lasting success.
Ephesians 4:22-23
Acts 9:1-9
How often do we analyze our lives? Are we moving in the right direction? Is our mind in the right place?
1. Pay attention to the signs and reflect.
When Paul’s faith was challenged he spent days fasting and meditating.
Do you have moments in your life when you need to stop and think: what’s God trying to teach me? Do we rebel or reflect? When we rebel me miss the signs and the opportunity to grow spiritually.
2. Surrender.
When you realize that the way you were living is not right, are you ready to surrender? And Paul’s surrender was complete.
Philippians 3:8-10
What’s the depth of your surrender? How far are you willing to go?
3. Obey quickly
Acts 9:15-20
Paul responded to God’s revelation immediately. God loves when we respond immediately. Immediacy shows that we are serious about His commands. What’s my priority in life? Is obeying God my priority?
