Like the woman caught in sin, we are all trapped in our own brokenness and deserve condemnation, yet Jesus offers us unconditional forgiveness and freedom. Through communion, we experience not just individual grace but a shared liberation that binds us together as a forgiven community.
We Are All Caught in a Mess
Sin affects every person—some struggle with obvious transgressions, others with more subtle and hidden failures. Regardless of the form our sin takes, we are all caught and all in need of rescue.
Jesus Takes Our Condemnation
Jesus willingly took upon himself the punishment we deserve. He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, and through his death brought us life and freedom.
Neither do I condemn you. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Freedom Through Forgiveness
- We desire to be set free from shame and disgrace
- We long to be forgiven rather than condemned
- Christ’s grace enables us to live the life God intends for us
- We must accept that God loves us unconditionally despite our failings
Communion: More Than Individual Grace
Communion is not merely a personal transaction between us and God. It is a communal act that reminds us we are forgiven together and bound together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
- We have been set free—not just individually, but collectively
- We commune with God and with one another in fellowship
- We enter communion without hiding, acknowledged our shared weakness
Living Out Our Freedom
Having received grace, we are called to extend that same grace to others. Our freedom empowers us to help one another become more like Jesus and to engage compassionately in the brokenness around us.
