As the ultimate model, God teaches us that a father’s love means discipline, protection, and the ability to be always available for your children. Happy Father’s Day to all our wonderful dads.
Who our Father is?
God is the creator and the Father of all. When we pray why do we call God Father?
Galatians 4:6-7
When Jesus prays he address God as Father. We can cry out to God because we are now heirs. What is a good Father?
Hebrews 12: 4-8
If we are not disciplined by our Father then we are not legitimate children.
As Fathers sometimes we do not want to discipline our kids. We should endure trials as something that God is helping me with. When there are difficulties in our lives God is teaching us discipline.
*God is the ultimate provider.
Matthew 6: 25-34
If God takes care of the birds and the lilies then he will take care of us too. We need to seek God’s kingdom first and he will provide for us. God’s kingdom should be the first priority in our lives. When we seek God’s kingdom first then we will see how he provides for us. Do we believe that God can provide for us? God is very protective of his children.
We now have access to God as his children.
Ephesians 3:12
We should not treat people the way that they treat us but rather how God treats us. Satan needs permission from God before he can touch us. We cannot replace our children. We should not give our best to work and leave the leftovers for our children. We should not demand such perfection from our children that they feel they can never measure up. The way we are to our children help others see our Heavenly Father.
