As we continue to study the character of Jesus through His interactions with people around Him, this Sunday we will focus on Jesus’ most important relationship: the relationship with His Father. Not considering equality with God something to be grasped, Jesus although extraordinarily powerful relied on his Father. His reliance helps us understand how we ought to humbly depend on God daily.

John 1: 14-16

Jesus became our righteousness and he became the atonement for our sins. Jesus is God in the flesh walking on this earth.

John 3:31-36

Jesus was no ordinary human being, he is above all. When Jesus speaks, he speaks for God. What does it mean to become like Jesus?

John 5: 19;30

There is a feeding of accomplishment when your children are independent. If Jesus can depend on his Father even though he was so powerful, what says us who are not powerful.

John 12:47-49

Our pride can be so much that we do not want to be told what to do or what to say. Jesus did not want to do anything by himself we were always reliant on God. How are we? Are we reliant on God?

John 4: 31-34

Jesus and his reliance and dependence on his Father:

Jesus saw himself as being satisfied when he does the will of his Father.

Hebrews 5:5-7

This is how the Hebrew writer sums up Jesus. Jesus was described as a man of prayer. He got up early in the morning to pray. We need to rely on God for sustenance. When we live a life that is not relying on God, then we are not living the life that God calls us to live. Why are we not going to God with loud cries and tears? Are we reliant on God, just like Jesus did?
