The Bible uses many metaphors to describe the church. The most dominant one used by the apostle Paul is ‘the body’. In this lesson we discuss how beautifully the church could display the manifold wisdom of God when we strive to live in this manner. The body works cohesively to accomplish much and so can the church.
Apostle Paul described church as a body. If we are to function effectively as a church we need to recognize the need for each other and learn to use our gifts to grow and strengthen the church.
1 Corinthians 12:12-27
Not because there is a difference in role does not mean that there is more value. If we are to function effectively we all need each other. We need to treat each other equally and do not show favoritism. Having a public role does not make us more important.
Romans 12:1-21
We need to find out what our gifts are. Doing nothing is not a gift. We only function as a body if all of us are doing our part. What is my role in the body?
Colossians 1:15
Through Christ we get our direction and sustenance. Always focus on how I am treating others and not focus on how I am being treated.
