No experience is necessary for us to follow Jesus. That call is extended to everyone. It does not matter where you are in life, the invitation is still extended to you. Following Jesus comes with a cost and it’s not a cost that is light. God promised to give us a life that makes a difference when we choose to follow Jesus.

Mark 8:27-37

We live in a society where we are always thinking what is in it for me. Do we see ourselves as families or as members of an organization. Peter was not concerned about Jesus he was concerned about himself. Because he was following Jesus he knows that whatever happens to Jesus is going to happen to him. We are going to loose our lives anyway but Jesus is saying if we give our lives to him we will gain eternal life. What would you give in exchange for your soul?

Following Christ should cost us something. We cannot have a Christianity that is without trials.

John 12:23-26

Serving Jesus means to follow him, to be like him. If we are about the message of Jesus Christ we have to teach what it said.
