Live With the End in Mind

We all live with the end in mind: work, school, sports relationships.

There’s a part in us that knows there will be an end and that there’s something beyond this life.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

1. We need to live for Jesus.
Just like there’s an end there is the beginning and it starts with Jesus.

John 14:1-6
The only way to get to heaven is to trust Jesus. Who is Jesus to you today? A moral teacher, good person, a legend, a lier, a lunatic?

If he is neither of those people, then he must be The Lord of all.

Matthew 7:21-29
Not everyone who talks about heaven belongs to the kingdom of God. Jesus is more concerned with our walk than our talk.
Jesus exposed those who sounded religious but did not have a personal relationship with him.

We can do many different, great things without having Jesus as Lord of our lives.

If Jesus is not Lord of all in our lives, he is not the no lord at all.

Obedience is the very best way to show that you believe.

Obedience is doing exactly what Lord commands and doing it joyfully.

Heaven is worth it but it will not happen automatically. It will come through obedience.

I am called to live the life of obedience because Jesus is Lord.

2. Live with your eyes on prize
2 Timothy 4:6-8

Ever since his conversion Paul offed everything to God: his money, time, his life. By the end of his life he was ready for his prize.

He fought the good fight to the very end. He kept the faith.

Do I live with the end in life and either our eyes on the prize.

God will reward us for living our lives as disciples.
