Follow. The Lunch Is On Me

The cost of following Jesus is often misunderstood. Many people come to Church for happier lives, better families or more money. And while there’s nothing wrong with all these things Jesus expects his followers to have different motivations.

Jesus is calling people to follow Him and he’s examining life and helping people to understand exactly who He is there’s some illumination that’s quite quite dramatic the words that he says but Jesus leads with such awesome kindness and patience it’s really outstanding and what we’re gonna be looking at here in a few moments so in John chapter 6 and verse 5 it says when Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him he said to Philip where shall we buy bread for these people to eat he asked this only to test him for he already had in mind what he was going to do you know oftentimes there’s got to be some tests where we are at spiritually and apparently Philip it was Philips today all right Philip answered him it will take more than a half a year’s wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a have a bite as we learn this is a group of 5,000 people that’s a large group when we have fought Locke it takes a long time to get through the line can you imagine 5,000 people another of his disciples Andrew said he saw his brother he saw he saw Phillip in trouble he says let me help let me help him out a little bit alright Andrew said Simon’s Peterborough spoke up he says here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish but how far will they go among so many and so he’s trying to help he said man we got five loaves and two fish and man this is this is good but really really help that much he just said have the people sit down there was plenty of grass in that place and they sat down about 5,000 just men were there
