To Serve and to Give His Life

The world may measured by things you have the ability to control, accomplishments, position, possessions.

What are some common characteristics of people who are considered great.

Matthew 20:20-28
How does God measure greatness. In His kingdom greatness is determined by amount of people you serve.

Slave and servant are the two lowest positions in the society.

Jesus served in all kinds of ways because he came in contact with all kinds of people: his disciples, strangers, family members, enemies, the poor, the rich.

1. Think like servant
Philippians 2:1-8
Good servants think more about others than themselves. It’s something opposite than world the world teaches. Common attitude in the world these days is that you should think of yourself first.

Servants look at the service as an opportunity not an obligation.

2. Live as real servants
We serve God by serving others. God can test our hearts by letting us serving others. How available am I to serve other people?  Is there time in my schedule where I serve other people?
Colossians 3:17
Do I serve everyone with equal dedication. There was no task off-limits for Jesus.
What about things I don’t like to do?

Servants keep a low profile. Self promotion and serving don’t mix well.
