Storm in Jamaica

Standing with Jamaica After the Storm

This past week, the people of Jamaica faced one of the most devastating natural disasters in the island’s history. A Category 5 hurricane swept across the western region, leaving a trail of destruction in its path. Power and communication lines have been severely impacted—77% of the island’s electricity is currently down, and many areas remain cut off.

Among those affected are our brothers and sisters in the Kingston Church of Christ and other congregations across the island. Reports indicate that many disciples’ homes have been severely damaged, with roofs torn off and personal belongings destroyed by rain. By God’s grace, there have been no reported injuries or deaths, but the need for restoration and recovery is great.

Church leaders in Jamaica are working closely with HOPE worldwide to assess needs and deliver aid to those most impacted. Our extended ICOC family around the world has already begun reaching out with prayers, messages of encouragement, and offers of support.

As the hurricane continues its northern path toward Cuba, Bermuda, and the Bahamas, we continue to pray for safety and protection for everyone in its way.

How You Can Help

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2

Together, let’s stand with our Jamaican brothers and sisters in faith, hope, and love.
