What comes to mind when you hear the word father? For some, it evokes love, strength, and protection. For others, it may stir memories of absence, pain, or longing. No matter your earthly experience, the Bible invites us to see God as the model of a good Father—faithful, present, generous, and loving.
In Luke 15, we see a picture of God’s heart: a Father who runs to embrace His lost child, not to shame or scold, but to restore and celebrate. In Matthew 7, we are reminded that God delights in giving good gifts to His children. And Romans 8 proclaims that we are not just saved—we are adopted, loved, and made heirs with Christ.
Good fathers, like our heavenly Father, build identity, instill stability, and leave a lasting legacy. They don’t need to be perfect—they need to be present, faithful, and surrendered to God. As Proverbs 20:7 says, “The righteous man walks in integrity; his children are blessed after him.”
Whether your earthly father was a source of strength or sorrow, you have a perfect Father in heaven who sees you, hears you, and calls you His own. 1 John 3:1 says, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God.”
This Father’s Day, come and discover the goodness of God. Join us as we celebrate “A Good Father.”
